Cecilia's Obituary
Cecilia Ann DeVoir, 86, Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, of St. Joseph, passed away on January 16, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
Cecilia was born on September 19, 1935 to Stanley and Elizabeth Gartee in South Bend, IN. She spent her early years in South Bend IN graduating from South Bend Central. She married Philip James DeVoir in 1952 and moved to Albion MI. In 1975 the family moved to St Joseph, MI. Nothing was more important to Cecilia than her Lord and her family. If you were a child and in the presence of Cecilia you had a mother. Cecilia was preceded in death by her husband, Philip James and son Timothy. She is survived by her children; Stanley (Debbie) DeVoir of Clinton MI, Roxanne DeVoir of Canton MI, Philip, David and Jason DeVoir of St Joseph MI and Mary (Terry) Nicholas of Grand Rapids, MI, 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 21, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 220 Church St., St. Joseph, MI at 2:00 P.M. with Father John Fleckenstein officiating. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery 1700 Lakeshore Drive, St. Joseph, MI 49085. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Birthright of St. Joseph, 2700 Niles Ave, St. Joseph, MI 49085 or any other pro-life organization of donor’s choice.
