Darius A. Hertsel, 41, of Cassopolis, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday evening, April 27, 2024.
He was born on June 21, 1982, in Niles, MI, the son of Burler and Sally (Hertsel) Baucom.
Darius had many hobbies; his favorites being golfing and fishing. Darius enjoyed being outdoors and loved grilling and cooking food for his family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his youngest little girl, whom he called his princess. Darius had an infectious laugh and loved eating authentic Mexican food. His unique sense of humor and love for his friends and family will be deeply missed.
Surviving are his mother – Sally Baucom; three children – Darius Hertsel Jr, Khole Hertsel, Olivia Hertsel and her mother Ashli Hickman; two brothers – Shane Hertsel and Burler Baucom Jr; beloved girlfriend - Tara Wilson; three nieces – Kiara, Ana, and Shayna; five nephews – Kristian, Kameron, Amarion, Christopher, and Bubby; many cousins (including his close cousins – Kirk and Talina) and a host of extended family and many friends.
Friends may visit with Darius’ family from 3:00-4:00 PM on Friday, May 10, at Clark Chapel and Cremation Services, 405 Center St, Dowagiac. Immediately following visitation, friends are invited to share a time of food and fellowship at the Vandalia Village Hall, 18035 State St, Vandalia.
