Jose Luis Crespo (Joe), age 63, on January 15, 2022 was given new breath into his lungs as he climbed that mountain to take Jesus’s hand. He also got new feet, knees, a slimmer belly, a full head of hair, and most importantly a resurrected heart. He fought for 46 days in the hospital with COVID pneumonia. He was reunited with his mother Betty Jean Vinson, his sisters Betty Jean Crespo (Jeannie), and Lucy Crespo. Joe was a loving father to Star Chambers, of Dowagiac, MI, Tonia (Roy) Farmer of Niles, MI, his granddaughters Heaven (Jerrid) Penley, of Niles, MI, Kaylee (Sean) Danner of Cassopolis, MI, Jaimee (Dillion Colter) Chambers, Destiny Aalfs of South Bend, IN, Sivannah & Joselyn Aalfs of Niles, MI, his great-grandchildren Jace, Cali Kay, Waylon, Halo, Amir, and Mason, siblings Lisa (Alfred) Pesina of Hillsboro, TX, Johnny Crespo of Whitney, TX, and David Delacruz of Buchanan, MI.

Joe was a man of many names, Louie, Joe Co., Bad Doggie, Fat Daddy, Abuelo or Grandpa, Uncle Louie Dad (DONT ASK), Chili, Homer, Babe, Gorgeous, and many more. He resided and graduated from Niles, MI. He was a member at Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle in Buchanan MI. His greatest accomplishments were being baptized, being a grandparent, his chosen family, and his successful Painting business. Joe had many hobbies including collecting antiques (his treasures), hunting, and cookouts. He lived a simple life, full of stories, and laughter. He put others before himself and did his best to do everybody fairly, even if it meant cutting himself short. He enjoyed frequenting at the Hesston Steam Museum, Rise-n-Shine, Plaza, Prime Table, and watching his favorite team Notre Dame play, at his daughter and son-in-laws, with friends.
