Josef “Joe” Hoffman, 75, of Stevensville, passed away at Lakeland Medical Center on Thursday, September 6, 2018.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018, at 3:30 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with V. Rev. Robert Creagan officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, September 10, 2018, from 1:30 PM until time of service at the funeral home. Joe was born on March 26, 1943, to Robert and Theresia (Horvat) Hoffmann in Wels, Austria, immigrating to the U.S. in 1958. On March 3, 1962, Joe married Barbara Evans in St. Joseph. He was a plumber for more than 40 years, recently retired. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, racing cars and playing golf.
Joe is survived by his wife, Barbara Hoffman; children, Kristina (Todd) Hill of St. Joseph, Nikola (Bob) Symonds of Sister Lakes, Karen (Scott) Goodrich of St. Joseph; five grandchildren, Josef Hill; Nicholas and Bobby Symonds; Kili and Scotty Goodrich; two great-grandchildren, Alexis Pendergrass and Aaliyah Hill; son-in-law Dennis Yerington; and brothers, Louie, Charles, and Helmet Hoffman.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Theresia Hoffmann, beloved daughter Theresia Yerington, brothers Rudolph and Frank Hoffmann, and sister Anna Marks.
