Pamela's Obituary
Pamela “Pam” D. Lockwood, 67, of St. Joseph, passed away at Pine Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on Saturday, July 28, 2018.
There will be no service per Pam’s request with a private burial at a later date.
Pam was born on June 29, 1951, to Edward & Evelyn (Lozmack) Klann in Michigan City, IN. In her early childhood years, her family lived in Three Oaks for a short time before they moved to St. Joseph. She graduated from St. Joseph High School before attending Lake Michigan College. During this time, she worked for Crystal Springs Florist where she helped make floral arrangements. She then moved on to work for Whirlpool Corporation in the Consumer Service Division as a service clerk. While working for Whirlpool she was introduced to Gary Lockwood, whom she would soon learn would be the love of her life. On Christmas day in 1975, Gary proposed and on June 12, 1976, they married at St. Peters United Church of Christ in St. Joseph.
Pam had a true love for animal, she showed her care by helping Dr. Richards as a Veterinarian Assistant. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph First United Methodist Church. A highlight of Pam and Gary’s marriage was the beautiful places they were able to travel together. They also enjoyed going to the Band Shell every Sunday afternoon to listen to music.
Pam had a passion for the outdoors, especially for plants and flowers. Most of all, she loved to spend her time with her family, especially her three rescue dogs: Patchy, Missy and Tiffy. Pam was known for her beautiful smile, she never greeted a person without it.
Pam is survived by her husband of 42 years Gary Lockwood of St. Joseph; aunt Evelyn Lozmack of Texas; brother-in-law Nolan Lockwood of 29 Palms, CA; and her loving cousins.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents Edward & Evelyn Klann; and wonderful aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Pam’s family would like to thank the staff, nurses and nursing assistants at Pine Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and the Caring Circle for their wonderful care and support.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph First United Methodist Church, Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan or Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra. Those wishing to leave a condolence online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.
