Violet L. Beaman, 90, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, peacefully at home with her family by her side.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 13, 2018, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Dan Miller officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 AM also at the funeral home. Burial will take place privately at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Violet was born on November 22, 1927, to Godfried and Margaret (Henschel) Nitz in Benton Harbor. On November 6, 1946, she married Ruel Beaman, Jr. She was a lifetime member of Assembly of God. Violet loved traveling, especially going on cruises with her family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and canning. Violet took pride in her yard and flowers. She was witty and selfless, always putting others first. Most of all, Violet cherished her family.
Violet is survived by her children, Judith Beaman, Sandra (Edward) Howader, Margaret Sullivan, Betty Metty and Daniel (Mary) Beaman; sister, Esther Schultz; thirteen grandchildren, forty-four great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Godfried and Margaret; husband Ruel; siblings, Harold Nitz, Edna Howard, Norman Nitz and grandson, Matthew Beaman.
