Harry's Obituary

Harry O. Richter, 75, of Stevensville, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018, at Caretel Inns of Lakeland. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 12PM, at Harry’s home, 4956 Candy Lane Path, Stevensville, with Pastor Ray Clark officiating. Harry was born on February 2, 1943, to George & Beatrice (Taylor) Richter in St. Joseph. He attended Benton Harbor High School. On September 29, 1963, he married Candice Hensley at the Church of God in Benton Harbor. Harry worked as a mechanic for multiple companies but most recently Big John Central Transport. He enjoyed to bow hunt for deer, trap shooting, playing the drums, and going shopping (even if he didn’t need to buy anything). He also liked to root for the University of Michigan and the Chicago Cubs. Most of all, he loved to spend his time with his family. Harry is survived by his wife of 54 years Candice Richter; children, Joyce (Andrew) Seeley of Phoenix, AZ, Mary (Justin) Mantei of Sawyer and Tammy (Bruce) Stevens of Benton Harbor; grandchildren, Tiffany, Jeremy, Anthony, Marissa and Alesha; six great-grandchildren; and siblings, George (Margaret) Richter of Coloma, Barb (Bill) Fredericks of St. Joseph and Marilyn Richter of Kalamazoo. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, George & Beatrice Richter and sister Millie Mammina.
