Elaine A. Steinke, 49, of Jackson, MI, passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital on Saturday, May 26, 2018.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018, at 2:30PM at Riverview Cemetery, with Pastor Thomas Bird officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12PM until 2PM on Friday, June 1, 2018, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. Those wishing to leave a condolence online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.
Elaine was born on June 4, 1968, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Edward & Patricia (Piontek) Steinke. She graduated from Lakeshore High School and earned her cosmetology degree from Twin City Beauty College. Elaine worked as a hairdresser and Certified Nurses Aid at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, and collecting beach glass. Elaine was known for always giving good advice, being independent and never meeting a stranger.
Elaine is survived by her parents, Edward & Patricia Steinke; children, Marissa Mantke of Jackson, MI and Matthew Jordan of Bridgman; brother Jeff (Melinda) Steinke of South Bend; and Nieces & Nephew, Catherine, Emily, Sarah, and James.
