Joyce Ochs, 60, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.
Joyce was born on August 2, 1957 in Bellevue, OH to Alexander & Laura (Gallup) Tibboles. She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1975. She then attended Terra Technical College earning her Associates Degree in Nursing. On July 8, 1978, she married Ambrose “Buzz” Joseph Ochs, IV. Joyce started a lifetime of saving others through her awesome gift of evangelism. She would share the gospel of our Lord and Savior with others wherever she went. She had a great ability to bring the face of Jesus to the people that she met on this earth. Joyce was a kind and selfless person who would do anything for anyone. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in St. Joseph where she participated in many activities and was a youth pastor. Her and her family often traveled to be with family in Ohio, to enjoy cookouts and being on the lake. Joyce loved to have parties and enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially the two granddaughters. Everyone will remember Joyce for her infectious laugh, joyful personality and great love for others.
Joyce is survived by her daughter Erin (Donnie) Price; grandchildren Reagan and Vivian Price; brother Charles (Sheryl) Tibboles; sister-in-law’s Monica (Karl) Busby and Carolyn (Tom) Pope; brother-in-law Paul (Tina) Ochs; nieces and nephews Shana (Shawn) Hemenway, Damon Tibboles, Bradley (Briana) Busby, Stephen Busby, Karlie Busby, Kacie Busby, Nicholas Pope, Evan Pope, Emily Ochs and Alec Ochs; and many great nephews and great nieces. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Alexander W. Tibboles and nephew Jonathan Pope.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Dan Colthorp officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Friday, May 4, 2018 at the funeral home.
