Karl's Obituary

Karl Robert Rodemann Wolfanger Sr., 83, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 P.M., Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Christ Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville with Rev. Martin Measel officiating. Friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M., Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or Marriage Encounter. Those wishing to share a memory of Karl online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com  Karl was born August 12, 1934, in New York City, NY to Louis & Henrietta (Rodemann) Wolfanger. He then attended Michigan State University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. On December 17, 1965, he married Florence Davy in East Lansing, MI. Karl worked for Wolverine Metal Stamping as an Engineer for many years, as well as Heath Kit and also enjoyed working on organs. Karl was an active member of Lutheran Marriage Encounter, Toast Master and a Cub Scout Master and was involved with Boy Scouts. Some of Karl’s hobbies involved organs, trains and old-time radio.  Karl is survived by his sons Bob Wolfanger and Steven Kemp; grandchildren Patrick Kemp and Rory Kemp; brother Curt (Mildred) Wolfanger; and nieces Sandra, Stephanie and Teresa. Karl was preceded in death by his parents and wife Florence.
