Nancy's Obituary
Nancy Carol Gaskins, 78, of Stevensville, passed away on Friday, March 09, 2018, at Caretel Inns of Lakeland.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at 12PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Thomas Bird officiating. Nancy was born on November 5, 1939, to Eugene & Christine (Evans) Tomlinson in Benton Harbor. She attended Benton Harbor High School. Nancy married Robert Gaskins in Norfolk, Virginia. She worked for Jordans Nursing Home (now West Woods of Bridgman) as a Certified Nursing Assistant before she retired after more than 25 years of service. Nancy enjoyed going to the beach and feeding the birds. She also like to watch old movies and her favorite TV shows, such as COPS and Family Feud. Most of all, Nancy loved to spend time with her family.
Nancy is survived by her children, Tracy McConomy of St. Joseph and Kim Bishop of Stevensville; grandchildren, Jennifer McConomy of Stevensville, Matthew McConomy of Stevensville, Alex VanDam of St. Joseph, Derek Bishop of St. Joseph and Richard Halfacre of Watervliet; sisters, Mary Lancaster of Grand Rapids and Peggy Pauline (Charles) Bisbo of St. Joseph; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Eugene & Christine Tomlinson; husband Robert Gaskins; son Richard Halfacre; and siblings, Barbara Fischer, Marjorie Bruder and Eugene Tomlinson Jr.
