Barbara Jean Molhoek

Barbara J. Molhoek, 56, of Battle Creek, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at 1PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Chuck Guerreno officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, from 12PM until time of service at the funeral home. Barb was born on May 26, 1961, to Robert & Doris (Menish) Molhoek in St. Joseph. She graduated from St. Joseph High School and earned her associates degree from Davenport University. Barbara worked in the payroll department for Bradford White Corporation in Middleville, MI. Barb was a fun loving person who always had a smile on her face and lit up every room she entered. She had an infectious laugh and a special pet name for many of those she loved. Barb enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and spending time in the sun whether in her garden or by the lake. Barb had a beautiful singing voice and sang in many choirs over the years. She was also an avid fan of the Detroit Lions and University of Michigan. Barbara is survived by her father Robert Molhoek of St. Joseph; sister Carolyn Molhoek of Kalamazoo; brother Tim Molhoek of New Buffalo; sister-in-law Mary Ann Ahrens of Benton Harbor; Nephews & Niece, Bradley (Kandice) Molhoek of Buchanan, Devon Early of Kalamazoo and Anna Early of Grand Rapids; great-nephew William Molhoek; dear friends Jody Tuinier, Trudy Skiver, Pat Werme and ex-husband Kent Hynes. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother Doris and brother Steven Molhoek.
