Nancy B. Keegstra

Nancy B. Keegstra, 85, of Stevensville, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at her home.  A celebration of Nancy and Edward’s life will take place at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018, with a time of sharing from 3-4 p.m.  Those wishing to sign Ed & Nancy’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.   Please no flowers, memorials may be made to The Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. Nancy was born October 23, 1932 in Grand Rapids to William & Isabel (Longwell) Brabb. She graduated from Creston High School & Henry Ford Hospital Nursing School. On May 23, 1953, she married Edward N. Keegstra in Grand Rapids. Nancy worked as a Registered Nurse while her husband Ed was in the Army and then attended Medical School. Then the family moved to Benton Harbor where Dr. Keegstra had his medical practice.  Nancy was an accomplished weaver and miniaturist. She loved cooking, bird watching, her many pets, and her large extended family. The family enjoyed their summer vacations camping on Honey Island in Long Lake, MI. Many of their friends were part of those adventures. They also enjoyed their time spent in their motor home, even once traveling all the way to Alaska.   Nancy is survived by her children -Bill (Sandy Williams) Keegstra, Tim (Traci) Keegstra, Jane Wilcox, Jo (Al Grabauskas) Keegstra, Piet (Patty) Keegstra; grandchildren-Aaron (Brian) Cookstra, Laura & Katie Keegstra, Garrett & Jenna Wilcox, Nick, Ian & Emma Branson, Nathan Keegstra, Matt (Charlie) Keegstra; great-grandchildren-Lily Branson, Hunter & Riley Keegstra; and her sister Dorothy (Joe) Vogt along with several nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Ed Keegstra, her daughter Amy Keegstra, and her parents.
