Janice Marie Hills

Janice M. Hills, 56, of Benton Harbor, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at Pine Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Stevensville. Celebration of Homegoing will take place at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 26, 2017 at Greater Grace Temple, 660 Nickerson Avenue, Benton Harbor, with Rev. George Dewberry officiating. Burial to follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. She was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School class of 1979. Janice went on to receive her associate’s degree from Jordon College in Benton Harbor. She was a dedicated hard worker employed by Burch in Benton Harbor where she worked as a factory worker for many years. Janice enjoyed cooking, going to the casino and playing bingo. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. Janice is survived by her daughters, Seniqua McGee and Kiara McGee both of Benton Harbor; grandchildren Ke’Marrion, Damarrion, Journey, Justice, Yasmine, KhiMynee, Kylan, Kylie and Anthony; parents, Cornelius Hills of Ponchatoula, LA and Nell Hills of Benton Harbor; siblings Patricia Duncan of Benton Harbor, Margaret Hills of Ponchatoula, LA, Sandra Hills, Sylvia Hills and Sharon Hills-Payno all of Benton Harbor, Valerie Hills of LaGrange, GA, Gary Pennington, Vernell Pennington, Debra Pennington- Harris all of Ponchatoula, LA and Gloria Brumfield of Hammond, LA; special niece Latosha Rogers; special great-niece Tyieshia McGill; goddaughter Alesha Henderson and special friends Dorothy Johnson, Dortha Williams and Beverly Whitfield and a host of nieces and nephews. Janice was preceded in death by her grandson KhíYenn McGee on August 30, 2016 and brothers Reginald Duncan and Kenneth Pennington; grandparents, Thomas & Emma Brown-Duncan and Abner & Rosa Hills; great-grandparents John & Sally Thomas.
