Robert John Swedenberg

Robert John Swedenberg, 77, of Stevensville, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Hanson Hospice Center. A gathering will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Swedenberg home.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice at Home. Robert was born to Henry and Marjorie (McDorman) Swedenberg on September 28, 1939 in Benton Harbor. He was united in marriage to Gloria Hutchins on January 13, 1963 in Somerset Center, MI. Robert was involved in many things and master of none, especially his wife. He loved fishing of any kind but especially on Lake Michigan and the St. Joseph River; where he also loved boating and taking walks on the beach. Robert enjoyed going to garage sales and flea marketing as well as driving anywhere at anytime, he also had a soft spot for dogs especially Pekinese. Robert is survived by his wife Gloria of Stevensville; children, Lori Bates of Benton Harbor, Darcy Ann (Kip) Krumroy of Piqua, OH, and Joann (Todd) Weaver of Englewood, OH; grandchildren, Evan, Bailey, Bryce, Megan, Robert, Justin, and Sydney; great-grandchildren, Mikey, Wyatt, Bristol, Adelaide, Lorelei, and Devon. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Michael Bates, and brother Mark Arthur.
