Danita Smith

Danita Smith, 56, of Eau Claire, MI passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at her home.  A Visitation Celebrating her Life will be held Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the Moose Lodge 449 in Buchanan. Those wishing to share a memory of Danita online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com  Danita was born January 14, 1961 in Benton Harbor, MI to James & Barbara (Coffel) Luhrsen. She married Robert Smith on May 23, 1991 in Arkansas. Danita loved driving bus for the migrant program in Watervliet. She was an active member of Women of the Moose Lodge 449 in Buchanan and was an avid Lions fan. Danita enjoyed going to brunch with her husband, antiquing, fishing, golfing, bowling and collecting spoons.  Danita is survived by her husband Robert Smith; daughters, Jessica Luhrsen, Cynthia (Joseph) Cicchillo; a son, J.D. (Lori) Luhrsen; grandchildren, Aliviah Ehdaivand, Nicholas Cicchillo, Jennifer Luhrsen and James Romeo; a sister, Debra (Bobby) Miller, a brother, Dennis Luhrsen and brother-in-law Gary Sorrels. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Diane Sorrels and a brother Daryl Luhrsen.
