Gustav Otto Graeber

Gustav Otto Graeber, 95, of Stevensville, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at The Willows in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI with Rev. Glenn Rosenbaum officiating. Burial will take place at Ruggles Cemetery in Baroda. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Home, Inc. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School.  On October 24, 1953, he married Shirley Yvonne Atwood at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Benton Harbor. He spent his lifetime working at Lape Steel in Benton Harbor. Gustav was a Master Gardener, member of Grace Lutheran Church and former member of Kalamazoo Dunes Orchid Society. Gustav is survived by his son; Craig (Sharon) Graeber of St. Joseph; daughter, Karen (James) Wilson, Jr. of Grapevine, TX; grandchildren, Brooke Wilson, Kendal Wilson, Andrew Graeber & Morgan Graeber and sister, Theresa Elsner. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 62 years, Shirley on March 16, 2016; three brothers and one sister.
