Virginia “Ginny” E. Marschke, 90, of St. Joseph passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Caretel Inn of Lakeland.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 9123 George Ave., Berrien Springs, with Pastor Douglas Adams officiating. A private family burial will take place at Spring Run Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 5 PM until 7 PM at the church. Ginny was born on September 14, 1925 in Benton Harbor to Paul & Elsie (Stines) Ott. On October 27, 1944, Ginny married the love of her life, Harley Marschke, he preceded her in death in 1994. For over 20 years, she worked at the Herald Palladium in the Circulation Department. Ginny was a dedicated member of St. Joseph Kickers Club and Trinity Lutheran Church, where she also assisted as a Ladies Aid. She was also a volunteer at Lakeland Medical Center-St. Joseph. Ginny enjoyed bowling and watching her reality T.V. shows, especially The Bachelor and Dancing with The Stars.
Ginny is survived by her children, Connie (Gary) Caranci of Marcellus, Jan (Chuck) Albright of St. Joseph and Todd Marschke of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Troy Albright, Darin (Amy) Caranci, and Dana (Darin) Loveland; 6 great-grandchildren; and sister, Lorraine Koebel-Brunke.
Ginny was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 50 years, Harley; and siblings, Marshall, Gordon, and Ken Ott, Raymond Loshbough, and Edith (Andrasi) Park.
