Tim was born on August 31, 1966 in Lake Forest, IL to Tad Taylor and Phyllis Taylor Dowsett. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1984 where he played baseball and roamed the football field from his defensive back position looking for his next target. Afterward, he attended Western Michigan University & Grand Valley State University. Tim was the owner and operator of P.S. Lawncare for many years. He changed career paths when Four Winds Casino opened, and there he formed many close bonds with his co-workers. Tim had a unique, quick witted sense of humor. He was able to put a twist on every story and it remained for life. If you talked to Tim, you most likely would end up in a punch line tomorrow. He was the life of every party. He was also a sports fanatic who followed the Packers, Tigers, Lakers and Wolverines. He loved to watch the St. Joe Bears football games. His favorite pastimes were going to Second Street Beach, walking his dog Max, bike rides, and listening to music. The best thing in Tim’s life occurred on September 16, 1994. That was the day he became a father. Nothing was more important to Tim than his daughter, Hallie. She was the love of his life and the reason he fought so hard. He defied all odds after his stroke in January of 2015 and conquered many medical challenges along the way. He fought an unbelievable battle that inspired his family, friends & his team of nurses.
Tim “The Toolman” Taylor, the king of nicknames, was the father of Hallie “AOP”; son of Phyllis (Richard) Dowsett; brother of Lora Brown and Keene (Shirley) Taylor; uncle of Kyle “Kakoo” Brown, Kasey “Kckoo” Brown, Ty “Tie” Taylor and Sam “Sambo” Taylor.
To quote Tim, “The best place on Earth is the beach. The best day ever invented is tomorrow.”
