John Michael Creager, 41, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in West Monroe, Louisiana where he resided.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, June 17, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph with Father James Morris officiating. Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, with Liturgical Prayers recited at 6:45 pm. John was born on January 28, 1975 in Kalamazoo to Everett & Elaine (Smith) Creager. He attended Lake Michigan Catholic Schools and spent his high school years at St. Joseph High School with the class of 1993. John has been living in Louisiana for over 20 years. He was employed in construction-painting, remodeling & roofing. John was always willing to help others in need. John loved dogs, fishing in inland lakes and being in nature. He was very creative and a talented drawer. John had a keen sense of humor and could always make others laugh.
John is survived by his mother, Elaine Creager of St. Joseph; his sister, Katie (Michael) Hancock of Hamilton, MI; two nieces, Autumn & Ivy Hancock; and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Creager on August 8, 2006.
