Elwood “Woody” C. Munson III., 42, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Lakeland Medical Center St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 A.M., Friday, May 13, 2016 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Brian Rumer officiating. Friends may visit from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M., Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the funeral home. He graduated from St. Joseph High in 1992 and went on to the paramedic program through Medic 1. Woody was united in marriage to Ashley Harlan on August 27, 2011 in St. Joseph. He was an EMT for Medic 1 since 1992, was a firefighter instructor for the last sixteen years and was part of Kustom Tatoos in Benton Harbor as a tattoo artist. Woody enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family. Woody is survived by his loving wife Ashley of St. Joseph; children Aidan Munson of St. Joseph, Alivia Munson, Lily Munson and Ariel Munson of Sodus, MI; mother Nancy Munson of St. Joseph; brother Samuel “Sam” (Alicia) Munson of Sodus; niece and nephew Kylee and Conner Munson of Sodus; and mother-in-law Penny Harlan of MO. He was preceded in death by his father Elwood “Skip” Munson Jr. and father-in-law William Harlan.
