Anthony Lamar Rush

Anthony Lamar “Tanka” Rush, 36, of Benton Harbor, died March 9, 2016 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 11 AM until noon with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at noon at Church of Christ, 1451 East Main St., Benton Harbor, with Rev. Leo Cloman officiating.  Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton Harbor. Anthony was born November 7, 1979 in Benton Harbor, to Deborrah Rush and Tony Brown. In 2005, Anthony earned his G.E.D from Mdoc.  Anthony loved life especially fishing, eating blue gills and tilapia and looking after his beloved family. He was a proud pillar in the community and enjoyed making everyone laugh with his great sense of humor. Anthony is survived by his mother, Deborrah Rush of Benton Harbor; brother, Deontae Randolph of Benton Harbor; son, Ayron McDowell of Benton Harbor; aunts & uncles, Robin (Dandy) Hamilton, Curtis Parker, Jerry (Shirley) Evans and Ronald Evans; special Godmother, Betty (Willie) Dumas & family; special friends, Everett Lee Gaston, Jr. & family, Xavier Kelly, Damond Rimpson, Louis Gordon, Jr., Daryl Lowe & family, and Sheronda Parks; and a host of cousins & Godchildren.  He was preceded in death by his father, Tony Brown; grandmother Holly Mae Evans, Uncle and Aunt Stephen Parker, Sr. and Willa Dickson; and cousins Rodney & Juwan Stevens.
