Georgianna Patricia Conrad, 86, of Niles, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Buchanan Meadows Nursing Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 555 Delaware Ave., Benton Harbor with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI with a Rosary at 7:30 PM. Georgianna was born on July 26, 1929 in South Bend, IN to Edward and Regina (Kaizer) Kroll. After high school graduation from St. John’s Catholic School, Georgianna attended Cosmopolitan School of Music in Chicago and received her degree from DePaul University in Chicago. Georgianna married Edward Conrad on May 26, 1951. She was a devoted full time mom raising four children. Georgianna taught piano to some 300 children over a 30 year period. She is a Past President of the Monday Musical Club in St. Joseph. She was an active member of St. Bernard’s Church for over 60 years where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, a funeral luncheon volunteer and the first organist at the church. Georgianna loved camping with her family and traveling with her husband. She also enjoyed attending concerts, playing bridge with her dear friends and entertaining with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Edward Conrad of Niles; one daughter, Diane (Jeff) Curry of Niles; three sons, Gregory (Pam) Conrad of Chantilly, VA; Timothy (Sue) Conrad of Fennville, MI; Bryan (Jan) Conrad of Coloma, MI; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Scott, Catherine, Jennifer, Megan, Kristen, Nathan, Micah and Heidi; four great-grandchildren, Brayden, Chase, Charlotte and Bronson.
Georgianna was preceded by her parents and sister.
