Beverly Jane Harner

Beverly Jane (Menchinger) Harner, 76, of Eau Claire, MI passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Michigan. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 4071 Naomi Rd., Sodus, MI with Pastor Mark Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Caldwell Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the church. Beverly was born on March 8, 1939, in Benton Harbor, MI to Adolph & Helen (Hetke) Menchinger. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1957. Beverly grew up on a fruit farm in Sodus, MI. On November 23, 1957 she was united in marriage to Hazen (Bud) Harner in Benton Harbor. She and Bud managed a successful family farm operation for 58 years. She was a lifelong member of Chapel Hill Methodist Church where she spent numerous hours volunteering at various events. Beverly loved watching her grandchildren in their sporting and dance events. She was a great cook and her family treasured her chocolate chip cookies. Beverly is survived by her beloved husband, Bud; sons, Jeffrey (Sandy) Harner and Brian (Anita) Harner both of Eau Claire; six grandchildren, Lindsey (Steve) Stuckey of Eau Claire, Hazen (Teal) Harner of Benton Center, Sydney Harner of Chicago, Zachary Harner, Jackson Harner and Carston Harner all of Eau Claire; one great-grandchild, Breslin Harner; brothers, Edwin (Clara) Menchinger of Sarasota, FL and Ernie (Irene) Menchinger of Conway, South Carolina and many nieces, nephews and cousins.   She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Marian Menchinger, Dorothy Zielke and Mildred Pfeifer.
