Virginia Rose Romeo

Virginia Rose Romeo, 85, of St. Joseph, passed away, Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family Monday May 4th from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., with Liturgical Prayers recited at 7:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 5th at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 555 E. Delaware, Benton Harbor, with Fr. William J. Virginia was born May 1, 1929 in Benton Harbor to Albert & Effie (Earl) Karr.  On September 28, 1945 she married Albert Romeo in Benton Harbor.  Virginia devoted her life to her husband, children & grandchildren-looking after all their needs.  She was a member of St. John/St. Bernard Parish and in her free time enjoyed flower gardening, bingo & poker.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Virginia is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years-Albert; her children-Terry (Debbie) Romeo of Buchanan, Sandy Fenderbosch of St. Joseph, Michael (Valerie) Romeo of St. Joseph, Toni Sue (Bruce) Wall of Three Oaks, Barbara (Terry) Hosbein of St. Joseph, David Romeo (Karen T Moore) of St. Joseph, & Robert (Patty) Romeo of Cummings, GA; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her sister Betty Farnum of Sarasota, FL; her sister-in-laws Evelyn Karr of Arizona, Ginger Martin of St. Joseph and numerous nieces & nephews & extended family.  She was preceded in death by her father Albert Karr, her mother & step father Effie & Roscoe Simpson, her son, Albert Anthony Romeo III, her sister Mary Katherine Totzke and two brothers-Robert & Donald Karr.
