Fred Sansone

Fred Sansone, Sr., 78, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Friday, April 03, 2015 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. Fred was born July 29, 1936 in Chicago to August & Virginia (Campeglia) Sansone.  He graduated from St. Phillip High School in 1955 and attended Washburn Trade School from 1955 to 1959 where he earned his Journeyman’s Card.  On August 8, 1959 Fred married the former Virginia B. Stainer in Oak Park, Illinois.  Fred was employed as a sheet metal fabricator with SMWIA Local #73 in Chicago beginning in 1955 and retiring in 1997.  He was a member of St. John/St. Bernard Parish, Knights of Columbus-Council #1120, St. Joseph River Yacht Club, Eagle Pointe Yacht Club, Lake Michigan Yachting Association, Miller Ikes Yacht Club in Portage, Indiana, and SMWIA Local #73 Chicago. Fred is survived by his wife Virginia B. Sansone; four sons-Fred (Dee) Sansone, Jr. of Tinley Park, IL, Gerry (Liz) Sansone of Chicago, Bill (Van) Sansone of Fremont, CA, Dominic (Aneta) Sansone of Campton Hills, IL; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his sister Virginia Bruno of Venice, FL.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
