Barbara Jean Reid

Barbara Reid, 86, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at home with her daughters by her side.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Saron Lutheran Church,  510 Main Street, St. Joseph with Pastor Joan Oleson officiating. Burial will follow at a later date. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Saron Lutheran Church or Hospice At Home. Those wishing to share a memory of Barbara online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.  Barbara Jean Lonsdale was born on December 17, 1928 in Peoria, Illinois to Loraine and Harry Lonsdale. She married Chester Reid Jr. on February 18, 1950 in Peoria. In 1959 they moved to Michigan.  She is survived by her three children Jim (Lonna) Reid of Arkansas, Judy (Mark) Wedde of St. Joseph, and Rebecca (Rick) Dernberger of Zeeland, MI; grandchildren Josh, Andy and Marko Wedde, Brittany Dernberger, Courtney Porte, Richelle and Makayla Dernberger; great grandchildren Dylan and Charlie Rose Wedde and one great grandchild on the way; sister Joanne (Fred) Denney; four nieces; two nephews; and her very special puppy, Bode, who never left her side. Preceding her in death was her husband and her parents.
