Claribel L. Damaske

Claribel L. Damaske, 98, of St. Joseph, went to meet her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland. Celebration of Life Services will be held 4:00 P.M.  Sunday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Michael Roth officiating.  Private burial will take place at SpringRunCemetery, St.   Joseph.  Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M Sunday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to TrinityLutheranChurch, St. Joseph or BerrienCounty 4-H Foundation.  Those wishing to sign Claribel’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Claribel was born June 11, 1916 in St. Joseph to Charles & Hattie (Domke) Geisler.  She graduated from St. JosephHigh School, Class of 1934.  On November 8, 1942, she married William A. Damaske in St. Joseph.  Claribel owned and operated Sophisticated Lady Hair Salon in Stevensville for many years.  She was a member of TrinityLutheranChurch in St. Joseph and served for more than fifty years as a 4-H leader.  In her free time Claribel enjoyed tending to her beautiful rose gardens and baking delicious cakes & pies. Claribel is survived by her children-Jane (Charles “Chuck”) Wilson of Stevensville, William “Bill” (Jane) Damaske of St. Joseph; two granddaughters-Michelle (Greg) Ellis & Rachel Damaske; two great-grandchildren-Riley & Landon Ellis; and a sister-in-law Elsie Damaske of Stevensville.  She was preceded by two sisters-Gladys Dovenmuehle & Edith Geisler, her husband William on April 23, 1999 and her granddaughter Sarah Damaske on February 21, 2010.
