Martha S. Hutchinson-Wert

Martha “Emi” S. Hutchinson-Wert, 38, of Coloma, MI passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at her home.   A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph, with Pastor J. Dean Pickett officiating. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at the funeral home. She married John Wert on October 7, 2000 in St. Joseph. She earned an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development. Emi was a homemaker and took pride in caring for her two children. She was a very creative person and especially enjoyed painting. Emi was involved in victim services as well as assisting veterans after coming home from war.   Emi is survived by her husband 14 years, John; son, Makya Wert; daughter, Elora Wert; sisters, Kathy (Jay) Sunday-Robinson of Texas, April Hutchinson, Beth Hutchinson, Bonnie Woodward and Donna Crumley all of Benton Harbor; and brothers, Jason Woodward and Adam Guess of Benton Harbor; nieces Justice & Hailey Ricketts, Brianna & Ciara Taylor all of Benton Harbor; and nephew Dustin Sunday of Texas. She was preceded by her parents.
