Amber Lane Chaney-Hambley

June 3rd, 1974 - May 20th, 2014

Amber's Obituary

Forever Amber.  A great and wonderful beauty, Amber Lane Chaney-Hambley, left us Tuesday, May 20, 2014. We lost a friend; a kind-hearted soul; and words cannot express the sorrow we feel at her passing. Amber was born June 3, 1974, in St. Joseph, MI to Garth and Barbara Chaney. Amber married her long-time best friend, Myles Hambley, in Silver City, NM on St. Patrick’s Day 2008. Amber was known for her compassion and love for animals, her love and knowledge of all things Irish, but most of all for her ability to make anything fun. She is greatly loved and cherished and leaves behind precious memories in the hearts of those left behind, including her husband, Myles; mother Barbara Chaney; brothers Donald Garth, Scott, and Kenneth Chaney; aunts, Beth Jeannette Valez, Nancy Moody, Denise Bishop, and Dotty Chaney; uncles, Joe Chaney, and Bryan Bishop; niece Sarah Calhoun; nephew Jeffery Calhoun, of whom she was very fond of; all of Myles’ family; and countless friends. Amber was preceded in death by her father, Garth. With broken hearts we will say goodbye to Amber at a visitation in her honor on Sunday, May 25, from 3-5 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Myles, or to the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan. Those wishing to share a memory of Amber online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Amber, though you are not around you will never be gone; no one can take your place, and your beauty will never fade.
