John William Miller

John W. Miller, 85, of St. Joseph passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Caretel Inns in St. Joseph. A private Celebration of Life Service will be held. John will be laid to rest at Palm Mortuary Cemetery in Henderson, Nevada. John was born January 3, 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland to Jack & Ella “Chick” (Maybury) Miller. During his high school years he enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country in World War II. He was honorably discharged from the Navy and then went to work as a Salesman at Cushing & Company for 20 years before retiring. He wed Margaret (Struthers) Murphy in Chicago on October 31, 1969. John went on to start his own company Chicago Reproductions which was a blue print reproduction company. He was a member of the Stevensville American Legion and was a proud WWII Veteran. John enjoyed cooking, taking trips to Las Vegas and visiting the casinos and was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. He is survived by his children William, Mary, James, Tammy, John Jr., Judy and Wendy; 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Margaret on August 5, 2003 and brother Thomas & David McLaughlin.
