John Robert Russell

John R. Russell Jr., 52, formerly of Benton Harbor, MI passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 7, 2014 at St. Bernard Catholic Church 555 E. Delaware Ave., Benton Harbor with Father William Jacobs Jr. officiating. Friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Bernard Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School in 1979. John went onto own his own business working in sales for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing and skiing. He enjoyed watching Michigan State football and basketball. He especially enjoyed March Madness Tournament. John is survived by his daughter Taylor Russell of Kalamazoo, his parents Bob & Arlene Russell of Benton Harbor, brothers Dave (Rhonda) Russell of St. Joseph, Ron (Bonnie) Russell of St. Joseph; sister Lisa (Joshua) Sutherland of Benton Harbor; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. John was preceded in death by his brother Scott Russell; grandparents William & Muriel Russell and Robert & Alice Hahn.
