Carol J. Ladrow, 85, formerly of 2801 Thayer Dr., St. Joseph, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Pine Ridge Nursing Home.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, with entombment following at North Shore Memory Garden. Friends may visit from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to WaterStep, 625 Myrtle Street, Louisville, KY 40206. Carol was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on August 12, 1928 to Daniel & Grace Eleanor (Dietrich) Friex.
She was a long-time member of Monday Musical Club (over 50 years), vice president for several years, and member of the Scholarship Committee. She was a life member of the Krasl Art Center, trip chairman for 20 years, and Volunteer of the Year for 2000. During her tenure as a past president for 3 years there, she obtained funds from George Krasl Trust to build the current facility. She was a member of the Southwest Michigan Symphony; Economic Club; First United Methodist Church; Berrien County Humane Society; Berrien County Association of Retarded Children. She formed the first Girl Scout Cadet Chorus.
She is survived by her daughter Marcia (Mark) Hogg of Louisville and two nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband Donald Ladrow, on September 2, 1995.
