Jeanette Wooster, 88, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph.
Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Private burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the Purple Heart Service Foundation or Fried’s Cat Shelter in Michigan City, Indiana. Jeanette was born July 9, 1925 in Three Rivers, Michigan to Harold & Isabelle (Haste) DeLeeuw. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1943 and on December 20, 1944 married Donald Wooster in St. Joseph. Jeanette was employed at Heath Company in St. Joseph for twenty years, retiring in 1987. She enjoyed flower gardening-roses being her favorite flower, baking-especially cookies, decorating for the Holidays, and taking care of her cat K.T. over the years.
Jeanette is survived by two daughters-Donna (Daniel) Hartmann of South Haven, Melanie (James) Kurtz of Montgomery Village, MD; three grandchildren-Joe (Carly) Hartmann, Dan Hartmann, Laura Hartmann; and several nieces & nephews. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Frank DeLeeuw, and her husband Donald on May 12, 2004.
