Kenneth's Obituary
Kenneth Kirby, Sr., 70, of Stevensville, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at home surrounded by his family, after a brief battle with stomach cancer.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road , St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the family. Friends wishing to send condolences may do so at the guest book at www.starks-menchinger.com.
Ken was born May 18, 1943, in Benton Harbor to Thomas and Julia (Theide) Kirby.
On December 17, 1966, he married Bonita Poling. He retired from Bosch after 26 years.
Ken enjoyed going to auctions with his son and collecting anything Coca-Cola. He also enjoyed watching his grandkids play soccer.
Ken is survived by his wife Bonnie Kirby; five children Kenneth (Kathy) Kirby, Jr., Marcia (Robert) Yack, Lisa (David) Schmaltz, Daniel (Sarah) Kirby and Michael (Anna) Kirby; five grandchildren Hunter Schmaltz, Brittany, Hannah, Steven, and Kaitlyn Yack. He is also survived by two sisters Betty Cassidy of St. Joseph and Irene Cox of Stevensville; one sister-in-law Carla Kirby of St. Joseph; granddogs Duke, Gonzo, Tosha & Rocky and his beloved pets Diesel, Red & Taz. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, sister Eleanor Dyer and two brothers Charles Kirby and Thomas Kirby.
