Stuart Edward Bischoff, 79, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Michael Roth, Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will take place on Monday at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Saturday from 5:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel. Stuart was born November 6, 1934 in St. Joseph to Ernest & Clara (Mielke) Bischoff. He graduated from St. Joseph High school in 1952. Stuart married Patricia Reddel on September 14, 1956 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph.
Stuart was a great family man. He made sure all his children growing up had plenty of fun. Stuart’s most prominent characteristic was his loyalty. He believed in hard work and old fashioned work ethic. He was proud of his contributions to Dynac Corporation and D&F Mold. Before his illness, Stuart loved to fish or to take a boat ride down the St. Joe River. He was a lifelong supporter of St. Joe High School sports and treasured his Michigan football season tickets and the years of memories attending the games. Stuart and his wife Pat made a great team and loved to participate in family events and holiday gatherings.
Stuart is survived by his children, Deborah (Steve) Minter of FL, Barry (Katy) Bischoff of St. Joseph, Krista (Richard) Bierbaum of Marshall, and David Bischoff of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Nathan, Aaron, Catie, and Luke; siblings Don (Marge) Bischoff of St. Joseph, Roger (June) Bischoff of CA, and Janet Burress of St. Joseph.
