Virginia was born October 20, 1917 to Charles and Anne (Taube) Karsen. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1935. She married George John Jaeger on February 17, 1940 and they enjoyed 73 wonderful years together.
Virginia always enjoyed being outside. She had beautiful flower gardens and working in them gave her great joy and it gave others happiness to see her hard work blossom each year. For many years, spending wonderful times at Jean Klock Park & Lions Beach with family and friends was a welcomed priority. Virginia and the “beach ladies” bridge group had a special bridge board to hold the cards to it so they would not blow away in the wind. For many years Virginia also loved to play golf and bridge at Berrien Hills Country Club. You could always find Virginia knitting afghans, baby blankets,
golf items and ornaments.
Virginia is survived by her husband George and daughter Anne “AJ” Jaeger-Heiden (Edwin) of St. Joseph, niece Christine Van Hoesen Willis (Kevin), and nephews Jeff (Becky) Hoesen and Craig Charles Van Hoesen all of Port Huron; cousins, Patti Kay Cloar (Jeff) of East Lansing, and James (Deb) Kay of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by son Gregory L. Jaeger; brother, Kenneth Karsen in WW II; and sister, Mickie Van Hoesen.
