Evelyn Merrill

Evelyn Merrill, 87, of Stevensville, MI passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 13, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Christopher Noffke officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. She worked for Fred Gast General Store in Derby, MI and the Dime Store in St. Joseph as a clerk. On June 24, 1950 she married Stephen Merrill in St. Joseph. In her spare time she enjoyed farming, gardening, and getting together with her ladies group. Evelyn is survived by her son Terry Merrill of Stevensville; daughter Susan (John) Collins of Stevensville; two grandchildren Christopher Collins of Lawrence & Stacy (Larry) Kingman of Benton Harbor; two great grandchildren Bryce Barfell-Collins and Emma Young of Benton Harbor; and sister Ethel (Joseph) Mikel of Baroda. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and granddaughter Jessica Kaye.
