Joseph W. Grabowski

Joseph Grabowski, 71, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Friday, December 06, 2013 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Berrien County Baptist Church, 5940 St. Joseph Ave, Stevensville, with Reverend Jim Whitman officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Joseph was born December 13, 1941 in St. Joseph, MI to Roman & Anna (Faroni) Grabowski. He graduated from Coloma High School in1961. On July 9, 1966 he married Carolyn Baker at Berrien Springs Baptist Church. Joseph worked at Martin Brothers in Benton Harbor as a mechanic for 29 years until he recently retired in July 2012. Joseph was a classic car enthusiast. He was currently working on his 1955 Chevy. He attended Berrien County Baptist Church on occasion. He enjoyed refinishing antique furniture, working on his lawn and spending time with his five grandchildren. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Carolyn Grabowski, sons Joseph Grabowski Jr. of St. Joseph and Scott (Carrie) Grabowski of Berrien Springs; grandchildren Ashley, Tiffany, Christina, Joseph III and Olivia; brothers John (Ginger) Grabowski, Roman “Dean” (Kathy) Grabowski, Chuck (Shirley) Grabowski, Richard (Donna) Grabowski and Frank (Jeanni) Grabowski and sister Dorothy (Bill) Schiffhauer and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Maryann and Eileen.
