Brian Graham Holt

Brian Graham Holt, 44, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Monday, September 9, 2013 at his home in the arms of his loving wife after a long courageous battle with cancer. Brian was born July 23, 1969 in Kalamazoo, MI to Duane & Linda (Handy) Holt. He graduated from Lake Michigan Catholic High School in 1988 and from Michigan State University. Brian was a teacher, coach and guidance counselor at Lake Michigan Catholic Schools. On June 10, 2000 he married Victoria Zinkil in St. Joseph, MI. In 2004, he graduated from University of Notre Dame with his law degree. Brian was an attorney for Passaro, Kahne, & Taylor Law Office in Benton Harbor. Brian was devoted to his girls. A day was not complete without quality time with his wife and two daughters. Brian loved sports whether it was coaching students at LMC or more recently his daughters through softball or basketball. The passion did not end there, Brian was an ardent Michigan State and Notre Dame fan. He also found joy in Fantasy football with his friends. Music was a meaningful part of his life. Some of his all-time favorite tunes come from Jimmy Buffett. Brian is survived by his wife Vicki Holt of St. Joseph; daughters Laurel (9) and Cameron ( 7) Holt of St. Joseph; grandmother, Helen Handy of Sodus; father Duane Holt of Benton Harbor; brother Matthew Holt of Gaylord, MI; sister Adrienne (Andrew) Holt Glisson of St. Joseph; and nieces and nephews. Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Linda, and grandfather, Graham. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, September 13, 2013 at First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph with Pastor Bob Confer officiating. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Berrien County Cancer Service.
