Linda was born April 18, 1948 in Iron Mountain, MI to Donald & Delores (Anderson) Shultz. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with a Bachelor’s of English degree. On June 6, 1970 she married John Wallenfang in Niagara, WI. Linda was the Vice President of Operations at Jamison Galleries in Benton Harbor. She was a member of SS. John & Bernard Parish and greatly served within the church and with women’s and bereavement ministries. Linda also served on the Readiness Center Board and was involved in Bible Study Fellowship for ten years and in her Christian small group. She enjoyed aquacising and the companionship of her many friends.
Linda – a name which means “tender, soft and beautiful” – left a beautiful legacy of servantship and motherhood. She was a model of selflessness and love. Even during the last few days of her life, she asked for the phone to call a friend who too was suffering from cancer in order to check on her and to encourage her. There were wrapped gifts not yet given and sympathy cards not yet written which remained after the departure of her soul. Adorned with quilts, prayer shawls, and hot cups of tea, her life emanated the fragrant aroma of self gift.
Linda is survived by her sons Donny (Megan) Wallenfang of Canton, OH and Michael (Michelle) Wallenfang of Benton Harbor; grandchildren Ellen, Aubin, Tobias, Callum, Simeon, John, Selena, and Anthony; siblings Kathy (Terry) Levesque, Donald “Thomas” (Ann) Shultz, Julie (Pat) O’Malley, and Robert (Sheri) Shultz. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John, in 2003.
