Margaret M. Luitje

Margaret M. Luitje, 93, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Market St., St. Joseph with Pastor Thomas Batsky officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St Joseph. Friends may visit from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. On August 9, 1946 she married William Walter Luitje in Green Bay, WI. Margaret retired as the local business owner of Luitje’s Coins and Antiques. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was involved in the Ladies Aid Group. She was also a member of the Clara Shively China Painting Club, and enjoyed gardening. Margaret is survived by her daughter Janice Luitje of St. Joseph; sons Thomas Luitje of Lansing, William (Lydia) Luitje of Ann Arbor and Steven (Jennifer) Luitje of Kalamazoo. Grandchildren; Laura Luitje, Martha Luitje, Ryan Krugh, Stephani Bliss, Elizabeth Luitje and Janet Luitje. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Mary Ann Humphrey.
