Karl M. Froehlich

Karl M. Froehlich, 67, of Stevensville, passed away Friday, April 27, 2012 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 11:30 A.M. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville, with Rev. Martin Measel officiating. Private burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church. Those wishing to sign Karl’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Karl was born July 23, 1944 in St. Joseph to Reinhold & Elsie (Kuhl) Froehlich. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1963, and attended Lake Michigan College and Eastern Michigan University. Karl was involved for many years with the family business-Froehlich’s Little Super in St. Joseph. After closing the store, Karl was involved in real estate and insurance. His most enjoyable job was serving as lunch room cook at Christ Lutheran School. All the children loved Chef Karl and his lunches. Karl was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where he was active in the choir and bible study. In his free time, he enjoyed photography and gourmet cooking. Karl was a good natured, trusting person who always had a smile on his face. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Karl is survived by three brothers-Theodore (Gayle) Froehlich of St. Joseph, Ronald Froehlich of W. Bloomfield, MI, David (Margaret) Froehlich of St. Joseph; numerous nieces & nephews; and friends too numerous to mention. Karl was especially appreciative for the nursing staff at Lakeland Hospital for the special care afforded him in his last days.
