Janice Ruth Robinson

Janice Ruth Robinson, 62, of Benton Harbor passed away peacefully on April 27th at Lakeland Hospital surrounded by family and friends after a sudden accident which left her without brain activity. A beloved jester to all that were lucky enough to know her, it was impossible to not be affected by her contagious smile, practical jokes, and resilient attitude throughout her incredibly difficult life coping with extensive brain damage. She was an avid knitter who completed over a hundred afghans, many of which were donated to Gateway (a workshop that she attended for over 40 years). A Celebration of Life Service will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 3:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Janie was an immense animal lover and recently spent a lot of time at the local shelter so in lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated and can be made either to Animal Aid of Southwest Michigan or the Berrien County Cancer Service. Janice is survived by her mother, Ivelise Boynton (owner of Ivelise’s Yarn Shop), her sister Sandra Robinson, and her nieces, Cara Farnsworth and Ryann Goergen. She was preceded by her father, Munson Robinson.
