Benton Harbor – Charlotte K. Hoyh, 70 of Benton Harbor died Friday, January 20, 2012, at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 555 Delaware, Benton Harbor with Fr. William Jacobs Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday Jan. 23rd at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, March of Dimes or the American Lung Association. Those wishing to share a memory online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Charlotte was born April 30, 1941 in Chicago, IL, to Edward and Irene Soltesz. Charlotte is a graduate of Bridgman High School and lived her entire life in this community. She was employed at Benton Harbor’s Creative Arts Gifted and Talented School for over 20 years were she touched the lives of many children. Her laughter was contagious and smile would always light up the room, which is why back in the day her C.B. handle was “Sunshine Girl”. She enjoyed bowling with her girlfriends and never missed watching a Chicago Bears football game. Her greatest loves were her children and grandson. Charlotte was preceded in death by husband, Melvin and both parents. She is survived by her children – David (Rhonda) Hoyh of Orinda, CA, Suzanne (Charles) Schultz of Eau Claire, and Michael Hoyh of Benton Harbor. One grandchild – Cameron Hoyh. And sisters – Charmaine (Troy) Carter of Dallas, TX, Pamela (Ted) Jensen of St. Joseph, Edna (Jim) Kiser of Merritt Island, FL. And brother – Edward (Jennifer) Soltesz, Jr. of St. Joseph. As well as several nieces and nephews around the country.
