Anthony “Tony” Glowacki, 89, of Bridgman, formerly of Chicago, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph with Fr. James Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois. Friends may call from 9:00 to 9:30 A.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial Donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Hospice at Home. Those wishing to sign Tony’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Anthony was born May 29, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois to Stanislaw & Anna (Pospiesna) Glowacki. He served his country during WWII in the US Army, stationed in Los Alamos, NM. On September 8, 1951, he married the former Theresa Wegner in Chicago. Tony retired as a driver from Arrow Lumber Co. in Chicago. After moving to Southwest Michigan in 2006, Tony was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears & Cubs. Anthony is survived by his children-Ken (Kim) Glowacki of Stevensville, Marianne (Walter) Fabian of Nashua, NH, Barbara Watkins of Lancaster, OH; twelve grandchildren-A.J. (Becky) Glowacki, Kate (Brad) Smith, Kevin, Patrick, Allison, Matthew & Grace Glowacki, Erin Fabian, Charlie O’Leary, Bryan, Vanessa & Eddie Watkins; two great-grandchildren-Tyler Quinlan and Dexter Prichard II; and numerous nieces & nephews. Anthony was preceded in death by his wife Theresa on August 12, 2011, his parents and four brothers-Gilmore, John, Leonard & Edward Glowacki.
