Gary Lee “Gus†Kelsey, 60, of Berrien Springs, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 12, 2011at his residence.
A funeral service will be held at 7:30 P.M. on August 18, 2011 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph with Rev. Paul Koehneke officiating. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Kelsey family. Those wishing to sign the memory book may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.
Gus, as he was known was born July 3, 1951 in Bourbon, Illinois to Elbert and Annabelle McGuire Kelsey. On May 29, 1975, he married Sharon Suding. In 1985, he moved to Michigan to work for his High School Basketball coach and remained a resident until his passing. Gus's passion was spending time with his grandchildren, he also enjoyed golf. He was a unique man and if you ever met him you never forgot him.
Gus is survived by his loving wife Sharon; daughter Stephanie Kelsey of St. Joseph; son Brandon Watts of California; grandchildren William Beaudette “Little Billy†of St. Joseph, and Kelsey Lee “Kiki Lee†of St. Joseph; son in law Jerry Beaudette of St. Joseph; dogs Nikki, Champ, Max; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gus was preceded in death by his brother Terry Kelsey; and dogs Snuggles, Rainy, Brooksy, and Rusty.
