Annette Lynn McBride

Annette Lynn Rudley-McBride was born December 26, 1957 to the union of Gus and Lottie Rudley in Benton Harbor, Michigan and confessed her life to Christ at an early age at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and served on the usher board under the leadership of the late Rev. John Watson. In 1994, Annette married the late Frank McBride and later moved to Kalamazoo, MI. Annette was once employed at Patterson Printing in Benton Harbor for three years and began enjoyed shopping, gardening, telling jokes and playing board games, video games, especially Ms. Pac Man. She also had a passion for writing poems, music, cooking, making everyone laugh, and giving helpful advice to those in need. Annette departed this life at KinderCare Nursing home in Kalamazoo, MI after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, May 31, 2011. She leaves precious memories of her to cherish with her children: LaTronette, Leslie, Brent, Melini, Shamir, Eritrea, Anwar, and Kazi: Her siblings, Dr. John M. Rudley (Docia) of Houston, TX, Beverly Manning (Isaac), Marcia Whitelow (Ronnie), Katrina Guidry (Garyl, Sr.), Daphne Rudley all of Benton Harbor, MI, Richard Rudley (Aquanita) Grand Rapids, MI, Robin Rudley-Miller and Eartha Carter both of Atlanta, GA; Two aunts: Nellie Nichols, Atlanta, GA, and Polly Stovall, Kalamazoo, MI, and One uncle: Jodie Jackson, Cleveland, OH and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Annette was preceded in death by her husband Frank McBride, her mother Lottie Rudley-Coleman and her father Gus Rudley. A Celebration of Home Going will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 831 McGuigan, Benton Harbor with Rev. Lee Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery.
