Anna R. Kevan

Anna R. Kevan, 96, formerly of Battle Creek and St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Jordan's Life Care Center in Bridgman. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Fr. William J. Jacobs, Jr. officiating. Friends may call from Noon until 1:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Anna was born May 16, 1915 in Cambria, Wyoming to John & Mary (Gorgulas) Kevan. She attended St. Phillip Catholic Schools in Battle Creek. Anna was employed at Post Cereal, now Kraft General Food in Battle Creek, retiring after 40 years as a weigh master. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the organ, singing, dancing, and tending to her yard and flowers. She especially enjoyed baking family dishes and spending time with her daughter and granddaughter. Anna is survived by her daughter Stephanie (John) Mack of St. Joseph; her granddaughter Anneliesa (James) Hundt of Falls Church, VA; and two great-grandchildren-William & Whitney Hundt. She was preceded in death by her father John Kevan; her mother & step-father-Mary & Louis Kovacevich; and two brothers-John Kevan & Andrew Kovacevich.
