Warren's Obituary

Warren Hendrix, 89, of St. Joseph Passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011 at Lakeland Continuing Care Center in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, MI. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. A visitation will be held one hour prior from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. Memorials may be made to Lakeland Continuing Care Center. Those wishing to share a memory online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Warren was born on April 18, 1921 in Benton Harbor to Floyd & Ilabelle (Fuller) Hendrix. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School. Warren served his country in the United States Army. On November 29, 1941 he married Anna Jean Hoffman in St. Joseph and they were married 69 years. Warren worked for Whirlpool for 38 years as a machinist. He was very devoted to his family and friends. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling, square dancing, drinking coffee and playing cards with friends. Warren also loved watching old movies and was an avid sports fan. Warren is survived by his two daughters Dianne (Buzz) Pereira of Mesa, AZ., Beverly (Jon) Crocker of Stevensville, MI; three grandchildren, Scott (Laura) Hendrix, Jessica (Philip) Deam and Mark (Eva) Pereira; five great grandchildren; and sister Marilyn Wells. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Anna Jean Hendrix; son, Ronald Hendrix; grandson, Gregory Anstey; three brothers Cecil, Donald, & Dale Hendrix.
